IBM was involved in a wonderful program for kids called "Writing to Read." It was a method of teaching children to read through the use of the computer, and had significant success in many pre-kindergarten classrooms around the country. This headline was taken from a bit of poetry written by a five-year-old participant named Matthew Howse. We went to the Children's All-Day School in Manhattan with buckets of markers and Bristol-Paper pads to try to persuade thirty kids to help us out with the art work- but soon found out nobody had the powers of concentration to do the whole deal. Consequently we set up tables: the cloud table, the grass table, the sun table, and the letter table. The rest was cut and paste back at the agency.
