IBM wanted to do a "high-tech ad" stressing their more serious scientific side, but geared to the broadest audience possible. We thought this "good heavens — silicon is made from sand" approach was dead on. Unfortunately, although the ad tested well, the client decided it was neither informative enough for the high end, nor fascinating enough for the low end. Hence, our ad bit the dust and never ran.
